About the role

The Sr. DBA will report to the IT Operations Manager in the Technology Department. This role is responsible for providing technical and operational support of the database platforms, as well as, implementing the overall Data Architecture and Business Intelligence layer at Inspira. This role serves as the primary interface with the development and client service teams to build, support, and provide processes for the management, manipulation, and storage of data. Working within a collaborative environment, the Sr. Database Administrator participates directly in solution creation, implementation of the underlying data architecture and ongoing support and training. The incumbent must be creative, client focused, solutions-driven, organized, and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Design logical data models and physical database designs optimized for performance, availability, and reliability.
• Architect and manage the Enterprise data model which spans internal systems and, external third-party processing systems for the firm’s collective benefit.
• Implement data governance, and drive efforts in defining data standards, designing classification taxonomies, developing data management processes, and ensuring proper meta-data management.
• Work with software engineers and SMEs to analyze business processes and develop/document requirements for all application solutions.
• Serve as a query tuning and optimization technical expert providing feedback to the software engineers.
• Review, commit, and maintain day-to-day database change scripts.
• Assist the Infrastructure Manager with deployments and migrations.
• Maintain and monitor operational database maintenance plans.
• Troubleshoot operational database issues (isolate problem queries or connections, capture and analyze traces, etc.)
• Mentor team members
• Proactively help to resolve difficult technical issues.
• Keep management informed of work activities and schedules.
• Support of all inbound calls/emails and maintain tickets within the issue tracking application related to data management.
• Assist with the implementation of new software and upgrades of existing software.
• Cross-train other team members to facilitate coverage.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Years of Experience: • 5-7 years of experience in Database Administration . Degree: • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field . Certification: N/A . Skills & Abilities: • Excellent analytical skills with a proactive nature
• Microsoft SQL Server including optimization and tuning.
• Data Security and Availability
• Strong organization skills with a drive to meet deadlines.
• An affinity for accuracy and efficiency
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word (including mail merge) and Outlook
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• An aptitude for prioritization and multi-tasking
• Strong collaboration skills
• A drive to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
