This position is responsible for assisting in requirements related to the US federal/state/local corporate income tax compliance and worldwide tax accounting. The position will be based in Skokie, IL and reports directly to the Senior Tax Manager of the company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of data used by consultants to prepare federal/state local income tax returns.
  • Prepare Tax Depreciation schedules and reconcile fixed asset activity for US entities.
  • Assist in responses for federal and state audit requests.
  • Review and respond to income tax notices.
  • Maintain Income Tax Account Reconciliation for US entities.
  • Lead worldwide Cash Income Tax collection process for 300+ subsidiaries ensuring accuracy of data collection and forecasting at a legal entity level.
  • Support the quarterly and annual income tax provision process.
  • Support the Tax Department’s evolution by implementing tax technology tools and enhancements.
  • Participate in special projects as needed, including tax and accounting systems updates, implementation, and testing.
  • Research and document tax law changes and rulings affecting business operations.
  • Liaison with finance, treasury, and legal with regard to tax issues and functions.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Education:  Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance. Advanced degree (MST, MBA) a plus but not required.

 

Experience: 3-6 years overall experience in US income tax compliance and/or global income tax reporting. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.

 

Skills

  • Detailed and deadline-oriented, organized, and able to deliver on timeliness.
  • Ability to interact with professionals in various global functional areas to resolve complex tax issues throughout the organization.
  • Experience with tax compliance and provision software (OneSource).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software especially Excel
  • Experience in process transformation including use of ETL tools (i.e. Alteryx, PowerQuery, etc.)
  • CPA a plus
