The Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Clinical Manager provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant and Living Donor programs, overseeing all phases of care across pre-transplant, post-transplant, living donor services and dual-organ processes (SLK, SHK, or SKP). This role directs a multidisciplinary team of 19-20 clinical staff, ensuring seamless coordination of complex evaluations, procedures, and follow-up care while advancing patient-centered outcomes.

The manager ensures full compliance with UNOS, CMS, OPTN, ODH, and institutional regulatory standards and drives program performance through quality improvement initiatives, regulatory readiness, data accuracy, and workflow optimization. In partnership with nephrologists, surgeons, and key internal and external stakeholders, the manager strengthens referral pathways, supports National Kidney Registry (NKR) activities, and promotes evidence-based clinical practice.

As both clinical and administrative leader, the manager is responsible for staffing, scheduling, performance management, and the professional development of the care team. The role leverages data-driven tools such as Epic, Laudio, and BI Launchpad to monitor productivity, optimize operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. Through mentorship, accountability, and active engagement in interdisciplinary meetings and committees, the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program Manager upholds clinical excellence, regulatory integrity, and a culture of compassion, equity, and continuous improvement.

Leadership, Communication, and Program Oversight – 20%

• Leads and supervises approximately 19-20 direct reports across pre-transplant, post-transplant, and living donor teams.
• Serves as a liaison among patients, families, providers, surgeons, social workers, financial coordinators, and other key stakeholders.
• Conducts regular team huddles and meetings to communicate updates, set goals, and address workflow and performance issues.
• Collaborates with medical and administrative leadership to uphold high standards of clinical care, service quality, and patient experience.
• Manages patient concerns and ensures timely, transparent resolution and service recovery.
• Builds and maintains relationships with referring providers, and dialysis centers to strengthen referral pathways and continuity of care.
• Recognizes staff achievements and promotes ongoing professional development and certification (CCTC/CCTN).
• Represents the transplant programs in multidisciplinary, operational, and quality meetings including selection, living donor, Epic, QAPI, and administrative forums.

Quality Improvement and Regulatory Compliance – 20%

• Ensures full compliance with UNOS, CMS, OPTN, ODH, and institutional regulations across all phases of care.
• Leads and participates in QAPI, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Oversees comprehensive evaluation, listing, and follow-up processes, including order entry, test result tracking, consult coordination, and documentation accuracy.
• Reviews and communicates abnormal findings to providers promptly and ensures timely distribution of patient letters (testing, listing, closure).
• Oversees UNOS data entry, candidate registration, and verification processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversees National Kidney Registry (NKR) activities, donor preselects, and match offers as applicable.
• Organizes and leads selection meetings, prepares agendas, tracks decisions, and maintains QAPI documentation.
• Supports Epic optimization for workflow efficiency, data accuracy, and regulatory reporting.
• Ensures program policies and procedures reflect current evidence-based practices and meet institutional and national standards.
