Job Summary
Apply educational learning to support the accounting department

Essential Job Duties

• Acquisitions (may do parts or all of the following)
  • Review acquisition documents
  • Prepare journal entries for purchase price allocation
    • Record tangible and intangible assets related to the acquisition
  • Review outside valuation firm reports on fair value
  • Prepare memo related to the acquisition
• Intangible assets
  • Update schedules for intangibles recorded in the acquisition journal entry
  • Compute amortization of intangibles
  • Reconcile schedules to the general ledger
• Technical Research (a high degree of training/supervision will accompany the following):
  • Research accounting questions that may occur during period of the internship
  • Document the results of the research in a technical memo
• Other areas may come up during this time.  Our area is also responsible for all external reporting, Big 4 audit co-ordination and internal controls.
• Other duties as assigned

Skill/Requirements

• Accounting major who has completed all intermediate accounting courses
• Ability to read and comprehend legal documents
• Ability to co-ordinate thoughts into a written document
• Organized work habits
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
