JOB TITLE: Principal Software Engineering
JOB LOCATION: 20205 North Creek Pkwy, Bothell, WA 98011
DUTIES: Responsible for the overall delivery process of a software application or service, including design, development, testing, deployment, production application support and maintenance with a focus on automation. Collaborate to gather and review software requirements/user stories, provide estimates, create software design specifications and collaborate with engineers/architects to assess and test hardware and software interactions. Execute a specific development methodology through application of various programming languages. Create and execute automated test plans/strategies utilizing business requirements and collaborate with engineers/architects, etc. to validate test environments, test data and test results, design and implement code fixes, validate outcomes against expected results and produce associate reporting. Responsible for dynamic application security testing, interface testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing and/or user acceptance testing. Support applications and solve configuration and environment issues. Support the software deployment process. Lead and manage the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle for web and service applications, including requirements gathering, software design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production maintenance with a strong emphasis on automation and process optimization. Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and cross-functional engineering teams to elicit, analyze, and review software requirements and user stories, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with business objectives. Provide accurate time and effort estimates for software development tasks and projects and create detailed software design specifications and technical documentation. Work closely with engineers and software architects to design application architectures and assess complex hardware and software interactions, ensuring system scalability, reliability, and performance. Develop and implement software solutions using programming languages and frameworks including JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, Node.js, Ract.js, AngularJS, and Adobe while following established coding standards and best practices. Utilize version control and repository tools such as GitHub, Maven, and Nexus to manage source code, dependencies, and release artifacts. Build and execute comprehensive automated test plans and testing strategies based on business requirements, leveraging tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes to enable continuous integration and deployment (CD/CD). Conduct various types of software testing including dynamic application security testing (DAST), interface testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure application robustness and security. Collaborate with engineers and architects to validate test environments, prepare test data, and verify test results, ensuring outcomes meet defined acceptance criteria. Design and implement code fixes for identified defects, validate resolutions against expected results, and generate associated test and defect reporting. Support application deployments and production releases, including troubleshooting and resolving configuration, environment, and infrastructure issues in a timely manner. Monitor application health and performance using tools such as ELK and Dynatrace and provide ongoing production support for deployed applications. Utilize workflow and project management tools including JIRA, iTrack, MS Visio, and Kanban boards to track progress, manage tasks, and ensure efficient software delivery. Administer and support middleware and database technologies including WebLogic, Apache, MySQL, and Oracle, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of application services. Develop and maintain event-driven and messaging solutions using EventHub and Kafka to support real-time data processing and system integrations.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation utilizing JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, Node.js, Ract.js, AngularJS, and Adobe; utilizing GitHub, Maven, and Nexus; utilizing Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes; utilizing ELK and Dynatrace; utilizing JIRA, iTrack, MS Visio, and Kanban; utilizing WebLogic, Apache, MySQL, and Oracle; and utilizing EventHub and Kafka.
