Job Purpose
Opportunity to work creatively in a fast-paced, innovative environment to lead the evaluation of the human interaction of our digital health solutions throughout the product development process. Note: This position is also open to candidates seeking part time employment.
Responsibilities
Human Centered Design and Usability
- Lead human factors strategy, planning, and execution in accordance with FDA regulations.
- Develop HF documentation to support regulatory filings
- Oversee end user design validation testing (e.g., summative validation, clinical UAT)
- Inform scope, user needs, design inputs as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop concepts and prototypes for end user testing
- Oversee and conduct focus groups/formative testing, analyze results and present results to stakeholders to inform product scope and roadmaps
- Collaborate with marketing team to conduct user experience research to help identify opportunities for product improvement and future feature development
- Conduct iterative testing to ensure design implementation meets need
- Participant in defect and deferred issue reviewEffectively champion and drive a culture of design that is focused on the experience of the user/patient
- Serve as a point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction
Leadership, Communication, and Professional Development
- Solve problems, think creatively, and provide innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Drive internal recruitment capabilities to support human factors and usability testing
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, internally and/or externally, and share learnings within functional group, core team, or full company meetings as appropriate.
- Continually research tools and methods to optimize efficiency.
- Utilizes knowledge of human factors and risk methodologies, quality literature, and expertise to help teams develop and achieve goals to meet business objectives
- Serves as a trusted adviser who can be called upon at any moment to provide support and project insight.

Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Direct experience conducting and managing Human Factors activities for medical devices (experience with the lay person population a plus)
- Experience with medical device product development, ISO 62366, ISO 14791
- Have strong project management skills and can work alone or in teams
- Ability to build and manage a team
- Hybrid work environment
- Ability to travel 10% to external vendors to conduct on-site testing (will vary with project needs)

Therefore, it is expected that all employees will have either prior experience working in those environments or will be trained to understand the requirements needed to work and support those requirements and culture as they relate to individual roles and responsibilities.
Required Education
- BS or MS in Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Human Centered Design, or related field
