We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design efforts from initial concept through production release, creating 3D models, assemblies, and engineering documentation to support both legacy programs and new product development. The candidate will be responsible for developing structural layouts, performing root cause investigations, and conducting tolerance analysis for part‑to‑part and assembly‑level integration. They will drive the resolution of technical issues throughout the development lifecycle and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with requirements. The Senior Design Engineer will also actively participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Do:
- Lead mechanical design activities from concept through production release, including requirements development, detailed design, analysis, testing, and documentation.
- Create 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and specifications using CAD tools (e.g., CATIA V5).
- Conduct engineering analysis (tolerance stack-ups & material selection) to validate design robustness.
- Support product integration and qualification testing, including test planning and data review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as stress, manufacturing, tooling, supply chain, quality, operations and program management teams.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to peer design reviews.

- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical or aerospace design engineering, preferably in propulsion systems or nacelles.
- Experience with 3D CAD tools (CATIA V5/V6 preferred; SolidWorks or NX acceptable) and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience with GD&T practices, tolerance stack‑ups, root cause analysis, design for manufacturability principles, and relevant aerospace industry standards.
- Experience with engineering fundamentals (mechanics, materials, kinematics, manufacturing processes).
- Experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter, Enovia, etc.)
- Experience with structural principles, materials behavior, and certification requirements.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Strong communication and collaboration capabilities.
- Highly organized with strong problem-solving and decision‑making skills.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
