Responsibilities
- Work as a part of an agile software development team to build and maintain cloud data
- Lead in the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality distributed data systems
- Research and build proof of concepts in the data space
- Complete sprint work collaboratively and punctually
- Contribute to the management of microservices/microdata architecture
- Map data between multiple databases and data sources
- Expertise in the migration and ETL of small to medium sized data
- Aid in the implementation of best practices for data delivery and management.
- Mentor and guide both junior and mid level team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including API specifications, data models, and design documentation
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the team
- Assist in the estimation, prioritization, and planning of development tasks, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools, helping to drive innovation and keep the team up-to-date with industry trends

- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry best practices, and share knowledge and insights with the team as appropriate
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and/or 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
- PostgresSQL proficiency, specifically in Amazon RDS.
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS: RedShift, DynamoDB, Lambda, RDS, IAM, aws cli, etc.)
- Knowledge of Datalakes and Data Warehousing
- Understanding of cloud data principles
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Experience with Datalakes and Data Warehousing
- Building and designing data pipelines and aggregators
- Associate or Professional AWS certifications.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins and Github Actions.
- Prior software development experience with languages such as JS/TS, Java, Go, or Python is a plus.
