Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Security Officer Sergeant for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois. Provides security to all areas of the Alton Mental Health Center. Patrols hospital grounds and buildings. Assists facility staff with management of combative patients. Prepares incident and investigative reports. Makes rounds of inspection. Schedules security officers in conducting, critiquing and documenting emergency drills. Participates in searches for missing patients and enforces traffic regulations. Serves as lead worker to lower-level staff.
Essential Functions
- Provides security to all areas of the Alton Mental Health Center.
- Serves as designated lead worker.
- Patrols hospital grounds and buildings by foot and by state vehicle to look for breaches of security, unsafe and hazardous conditions.
- Conducts investigation for the purpose of compiling actual witness statements, preservation and presentation of evidence and preparation of written investigative reports.
