The Material Planner (MP) is a supply chain position that is part of the Americas Supply Chain Organization and supports the Crosslinkers BL. The Material Planner is an Inventory Control Specialist and has responsibility for products of assigned tollers, suppliers, and plants. The Material Planner is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the supply chain including inventory management, purchase orders, and stock transfers.
The Material Planner works with: 3rd Party Tollers to schedule production, suppliers of Traded Goods (Buy Resell), suppliers of raw materials for Tollers, internal production plants, and 3rd Party warehouses. The Material Planner is an Inventory Control Specialist managing inventory levels, inventory health, and stock transfers. The position will work with plants, warehouses, and external suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels that are consistent with maintaining adequate customer service levels required by the business. The role also addresses ATPs with Customer Service, works through supply concerns with Marketing and manages allocations and the shelf life extension process. The Material Planner manages inventory health and handles blocked stock activities including disposition. The Material Planner will identify and escalate any potential at risk inventory and coordinate the scrapping of any such inventory if required and approved. The Material Planner will manage any expedites required for their assigned materials and coordinate with other plants and regions as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-day activities for maintaining the supply chain.
- Manage and convert UB/IVs for finished goods, intermediates, and raw materials at responsible facilities
- Plan production and create POs for Tollers
- Create POs for Traded Goods.
- Manage the alerts and inventory focused on a high service level / cost sensitive supply chain model.
- Convert planned orders to Purchase Requisitions
- Receive POs from Suppliers and enter Quality Data in SAP
- Work with Customer Service on ATP failures
Manage any expedites required for materials and coordinate with other regions as needed. In the event there is the need for allocation, escalate to the Product Supply Manager for a decision to be made. Manage the allocation plan once the decision is made.
Manage and maintain Inventory Settings.
Manage all inventory health activities for assigned products and complete reporting. Responsible for blocked stock activities including disposition. Also identify and escalate any potential at risk inventory to the Product Supply Manager and coordinate the scrapping of any such inventory if required.
Support Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Technology and Logistics requests related to specific supply questions and issues. Support productivity improvement projects and KPIs.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; preferably in science, engineering, supply chain or logistics
- 5+ years of Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Customer Service, or equivalent experience is required.
