The Opportunity
Lightsource bp is seeking a Senior Portfolio Investment Manager to support the rapid growth of our U.S. renewable energy portfolio.
The Investment Management (IM) team acts as the primary interface between Lightsource bp and our capital partners after projects reach financial close. The team manages ongoing investor relationships, financial performance, and compliance with financing agreements across operating renewable energy assets.
This role will oversee portfolios of utility‑scale solar and energy storage projects, ensuring strong investor relationships, financial performance, and compliance with complex project finance structures.
You will collaborate closely with Structured Finance, Asset Management, Finance, Power Marketing, Legal, and Engineering teams to support the long‑term success of Lightsource bp’s renewable energy portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Investor Management
- Serve as the primary day‑to‑day contact for lenders, tax equity investors, and equity partners across assigned portfolios.
- Manage compliance with project finance documentation and covenant reporting obligations.
- Coordinate waivers, approvals, and amendments with capital providers.
- Ensure timely debt service payments and investor distributions.
- Manage and optimize letters of credit and ancillary financial facilities.
Financial & Portfolio Oversight
- Monitor technical, commercial, and financial performance across project portfolios.
- Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, financial models, and performance reporting.
- Analyze project financials including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Identify risks and opportunities for commercial or financial optimization.
Strategic & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Asset Management, Structured Finance, Treasury, Legal, and Power Marketing teams to drive portfolio performance.
- Support refinancing, sell‑downs, and M&A transactions across renewable assets.
- Contribute to portfolio‑level reviews and global investment initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience
- Experience in project finance, renewable energy, infrastructure investment, or structured finance.
- Experience working with lenders, tax equity investors, or infrastructure capital providers.
- Familiarity with non‑recourse project finance structures.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of project finance documentation and covenant management.
- Ability to interpret complex financial models and financial statements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
