DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICIAN 2

This is a merit-hire position. The starting pay rate is $24.75. Dauphin County Social Services for Children & Youth is currently accepting applications for the full time, day-shift position of Descriptive Statistician 2. The Descriptive Statistician 2 is responsible for the collection, organization, classification and statistical analysis and summarization of quantified and statistical data from assigned projects.  Work is performed as part of a work unit focused on assuring the quality of human services in Dauphin County. The employee hired for this position designs databases, evaluation tools, forms, surveys, and questionnaires utilized to both gather and analyze data. The Descriptive Statistician 2 also develops reports to interpret and present data, as well as present and explain these reports to project stakeholders.

The Descriptive Statistician 2 is supervised by the Quality Assurance Analyst Supervisor. 

Minimum Education, Experience & Training:

• One-year of experience as a Descriptive Statistician 1. 

• Or 2 years’ experience in collection, compilation, editing and logical interpretation of quantified data and a bachelor’s degree. 

• Or a bachelor’s degree that includes or is supplemented by completion of 12 semester hours of coursework in statistical theory and methods or in courses placing major emphasis on the application of statistical methods to specific subject matter fields.

Other Requirements:

At the time of hire, a valid driver’s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references are required. The applicant must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire. An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver’s license under 67 PA. Code § 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position.
