Geotab is seeking a Senior Data Analyst who will analyze well-defined sets of data to answer tangible business needs, find meaningful insights, and provide data for strategic decision-making. What you'll do:

As a Senior Data Analyst, your key area of responsibility will be analyzing well-defined sets of data using a variety of different tools to find meaningful insights and develop customer-facing products from these results. You will also conduct ongoing data validation studies on aggregate Geotab data, create/maintain data pipelines, or use statistical tools to generate data on trends, patterns, and predictions. You will need to work closely with Data professionals across multiple teams.

To be successful in this role, you will be key to providing data upon which strategic decisions are made. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of how partners and customers can directly benefit from the analysis.

How you'll make an impact:

• Examine large data sets to identify trends, develop charts, and create visual presentations to help businesses make more strategic decisions.

• Utilize statistical tools to interpret data sets and prepare reports and technical papers that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions based on relevant findings.

• Create, and maintain well defined data products and data pipelines.

• Write SQL queries to find answers to complex business questions.

• Identify any data quality issues and partialities in data acquisition.

• Coordinate with engineering teams to gather incremental new data.

• Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.

• Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to achieve objectives.

• Work with data scientists and leverage machine learning models that have been developed against Geotab’s big data environment.

What you'll bring to the role:

• 5-8 years working as a Data Analyst or a similar role.

• 5-8 years of experience with SQL.

• Post secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Experience working with big data and an understanding of techniques used to extract value out of very large datasets.

• Experience working closely with business analysts to arrive at data solutions.

• Experience with database design and writing queries.
