Job Summary 

Works collaboratively with hospital staff to provide a safe environment for our stakeholders. Proactively addresses and deescalates tense situations and/or conflict. Responds to requests for security assistance and works with law enforcement as needed. Enforces hospital security policies and procedures. Investigates incidents and prepares written reports. The primary role and responsibility is to serve as the hospital’s emergency “First Responder”.              

Minimum Requirements 

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Training: Completion of a CNA or Medical Assistant training program

Special skills: Communication and customer service skills; computer skills

Licensure: CNA or Medical Assistant; CPR

Greets patients, visitors, and other guests and provides information to assist them in getting to their specific designations. 
Manages wheelchair distribution and provides security escorts for guests and employees to and from vehicles as requested. 
Patrols premises to ensure security of patients, visitors, and staff.
Proactively addresses and deescalates tense situations and/or conflict.
Responds to requests for security assistance and works with local law enforcement as needed. 
Responds to all hospital emergency Codes, excluding medical codes.
Investigates incidents and prepares written reports
Enforces hospital security policies and procedures
Serves as the hospital’s Emergency First Responders.
Carries a registered firearm for protection and prevention of conflict. 
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
 

  • 2 years required - prior law enforcement, Military, and/or Corrections preferred
  • HS Diploma or equivalent 
  • Certification required - LA POST Firearms Qualifications and Physical Readiness Assessment (PRA)
