Examples of duties

This role focuses on supporting caseworkers and children through supervision, transportation, documentation, and day-to-day assistance. You will help ensure that agency procedures run smoothly and that children have what they need during appointments and transitions. As a Social Services Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:

Child Supervision: Supervise and monitor children during appointments, visitation, court events, and approved activities
Placement Support: Assist with admission, placement, and discharge procedures for children in agency custody
Home Visit Assistance: Accompany caseworkers on home visits and report observations about child and family functioning
Record Management: Obtain and maintain medical, dental, vision, immunization, and related records
Transportation Tasks: Transport foster children to visits, school, appointments, and approved activities
Resource Coordination: Support communication between the agency and resource families during placement transitions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
Possible travel requiring overnight stays. Possible after-hours appointments for supervised visitation and transportation.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Graduation from high school; or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

You must pass a background investigation.
A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
