A Day in the Life

In this role, you will join the Manufacturing Technology Development Engineering Team of the Medtronic Operations Innovation Organization within Strategy and Technology of Global Operations and Supply Chain. You will be a leader of the MTD R&D Development Lab and will play a significant role in defining growth strategies and supporting a team of technicians executing the prototyping of new technologies. You will also support the integration of future technologies into R&D programs and device manufacturing facilities and support our Compassionate Use Device manufacturing programs.

• Responsible for prioritization of laboratory build requests and allocation of tasks to Technicians

• Maintains clear communication with Lab customers on request status and timelines

• Partners with engineers or customers to define workflow for new or complex jobs in the lab. Translates the customer requirements to discrete tasks for team to execute.

• Defines and develops key skillsets across the team

• Supports continuous improvement activities for the lab

• Drives Lab customer diversification and growth strategies

• Maintains laboratory supply budget Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products or software systems

• May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products

• Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies

• Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.

• Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release

• Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended

• Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development

• Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery

• Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

Must Haves

Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of Engineering/R&D/Operations experience or advanced degree and 1+ year of experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with prioritization of lab build requests

• Customer service experience

• Experience supporting growth strategy for new manufacturing technology

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$124,000.00 - $186,
