Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Saginaw Operations on a full-time basis.
This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
The Role:
This is a 3rd shift role. You will maintain awareness of quality standards, and communicate department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues. You will build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management, and understand to consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union. Implements and follows systems that prevent recurrence of known issues.
What You’ll Do:
- Prioritize and coordinate work assignments to support production schedules and minimize downtime
- Support implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives
- Prioritize and coordinate work assignments to support production schedules and minimize downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with GM standards.
- Lead and support GMS & BPD activities.
- Lead a workplace safety system (WSS) element or performance standard (PS).
- Lead training & versatility activities for hourly and salary maintenance team.
- Direct supervision of maintenance group leaders & maintenance coordinators across 3 shifts of operation
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- able to work 3rd shift and flex as business requires
- Strong leadership skills
- Demonstrated capability to implement and coach GMS principles
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple manufacturing operations activities
- Demonstrated capability in project management skills
- Ability to travel (domestic and international) for extended periods of time
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Excellent Oral and written communication skills
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
- Demonstrated technical and professional skills
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- B.S. in Engineering (other technical disciplines may be considered if: 5+ Years direct technical knowledge & experience in manufacturing industry)
- Prior Manufacturing Engineering or Maintenance assignment & working relationship with UAW leadership and UAW skilled trades.
