POSITION SUMMARY:
At Natera we build fast, reliable and scalable software that is easy to test and deploy. Our Engineering team works on a set of applications such as a complex Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Constellation – our cloud based data analytics SaaS platform hosted on Amazon Web Services.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless release of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and related software. You will work closely with development, software quality assurance, and operations teams to understand the requirements and coordinate releases, resolve issues, and continuously improve the release process. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, is a strong coder, has a background in all around CI/CD and has a deep understanding of software release management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Release Management: Own the entire LIMS release process execution, ensuring smooth and timely software releases with minimal downtime.
- Automation: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes across various environments.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor the effectiveness of the release process and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance overall quality.
- Application infrastructure: Design and implement a variety of projects to support extreme growth of complexity of applications as well as to enable innovation.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the release process, CI/CD pipelines, and regression testing procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or a related field.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python)
Experience working with databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS)
Experience working with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Version control systems (e.g., Git)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Experience with Terraform
Experience with Kafka
Knowledge of various regression testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, etc.)
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience working in regulated environments like healthcare
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Duties are typically performed in an office setting.
Duties may require working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends) at times.
