We, in the Teams Platform, are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join us and be part of an exciting journey in redefining workplace productivity solutions, that scale to our worldwide user base, across industry verticals and multitude of platforms and devices. Responsibilities

  • Defining and implementing extensible surfaces and APIs in the Teams Web and Desktop Clients. 
  • Working with multiple teams across the company to align dependencies and build compelling user scenarios.  
  • Implementing new features with high quality designs, execution, and robust deployment plans.  
  • Providing technical leadership for strategic initiatives and guiding the broader team. 
  • Helping developers build fast, reliable, and compliant Teams Apps. 
  • Demonstrating passion for customers and partners.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in building and shipping large-scale web applications.
  • Experience with modern web technologies like React, TypeScript, GraphQL, etc. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in solution design, problem solving, debugging and communication skills. 
  • Solid understanding of how web applications work including authentication, cookies, offline storage, and best development practices. 
  • Customer obsession and experience in running live site for large-scale web apps and services. 
  • Experience with designing, building, and maintaining developer-facing APIs. 

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan
