The Boeing Company is looking for a Material Process and Physics Senior Manager located in Ridley Park, PA.

This position will lead a team of first level managers and independent contributors in Materials and Process Technology Engineering that have knowledge of one or more materials, processes and physics engineering disciplines (e.g., composites, dynamics, electrical, electronics, mechanics, chemistry, metallurgy, material science, physics, etc.) in order to support the engineering, manufacture and sustainment of Boeing products with regard to the design, production, application and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and structural systems.

This specific role is to lead the PHL Manufacturing Research & Development Team across all Programs and Centers at the Ridley Park Site in support of the site’s rotorcraft and related products.

Experience in and leading Managers and individual contributors in these key areas:

Manufacturing Technology and Equipment Integrator

  • Research and Develop manufacturing technology leveraging CTO, The Boeing Enterprise, and Industry and ensure the use of “best practices” division-wide

  • Develop Technology Roadmaps

  • Serve as the manufacturing capital equipment SME for each center / program (LRBP Lead)

  • Lead IAD (Internal Applications Development) projects for tools, process, and equipment development and pre-capitalization

  • Refresh the factory to support program unique requirements for new customer variants

  • Develop new program tools and equipment lists and Lead cross-functional implementation team

  • Bring in and support production assets


Process Subject Matter Experts

  • Manage, cultivate, cross train, and have succession plans for experts across multiple skill areas such as: Automated Fiber Placement, Automated Trim, FSDA, Composite Fabrication, Augmented Reality, Automated and Manual Drilling, Fastening, Critical Parts fabrication, Etc.

Factory Shop Support

  • Extend the right skills at the right time to LSCC (support cells)

  • Provide technical support and process improvement expertise to factory operations.

  • Provide non-conformance support to develop tools/equipment required to implement NCR repairs.

  • Identify “difficult-to-build” components and provide Producibility expertise

  • Develop & deploy shop tip sheets

  • Identify and correct safety and ergonomic issues

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

The ability to obtain Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 8+ years of engineering experience

  • 3+ years of experience managing an engineering Team

  • Experience in Manufacturing Technologies and implementations into production systems

  • Experience in leading or managing complex projects

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience managing an M&P/Manufacturing Technology engineering team

  • Experience in the aerospace industry, particularly with military or defense production programs.

  • Knowledge of Boeing's organizational processes, program plans, and policies.

  • Demonstrated ability in budget management, Earned Value Management and business process improvement

  • Experience with Vertical Lift Platforms

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
