About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our Auto 2.0 team. Leveraging your strong background in test automation and tools, extensive experience in the insurance industry, and good experience in the Duck Creek platform, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our insurance applications and platforms through the development and execution of comprehensive testing strategies.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of our insurance applications and platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define acceptance criteria, and identify testable features
- Design and implement automated testing frameworks and tools, with a focus on maximizing test coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Conduct thorough testing of functional, performance, and regression aspects of our insurance applications across different environments and platforms
- Analyze test results and identify areas for improvement, providing documentation and recommendations for remediation
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts to troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues
- Drive transformation initiatives like Continuous Testing (CI/CD enablement), In Sprint Test automation, Service virtualization and BDD. Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the Quality Engineering team to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Stay updated with industry best practices, trends, and advancements pertaining to software quality assurance and test automation
- Understand and apply industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements to incorporate them into the testing process
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the Duck Creek platform, providing insights and recommendations for its efficient utilization within our applications
- Minimum of 12 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, with a good portion in the insurance industry.
- Extensive experience in test framework and automation and working with various testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Postman, SynapseRT, Cucumber, etc.)
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python for test scripting and automation.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and best practices
- Strong working experience in Agile model
- In-depth understanding of insurance business processes, products, and systems
- Good experience in working with the Duck Creek platform, including familiarity with its various modules and capabilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams
- Certifications in Software Quality Assurance (e.g., ISTQB) and/or relevant insurance industry certifications would be a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
