Position Summary:
As the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Regent/MCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the workforce strategy of a diverse and expansive portfolio of companies across the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia. You will be entrusted with a broad range of responsibilities including executive coaching, organizational development, employee onboarding, benefits management, payroll, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) due diligence and employee integration. This position demands a strategic mindset combined with a deep understanding of operational execution in the HR domain globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and grow the distributed HR team with a focus on operational excellence and consistency.
- Counsel firm and Portfolio Company leadership in decision making, crisis management, and employee optimization.
- Lead and streamline employee onboarding processes across various portfolio companies to ensure a seamless integration of talent into our diverse corporate culture.
- Manage and optimize employee benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive and align with employee needs and company objectives.
- Help oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Play a key role in M&A activities, specifically in conducting thorough due diligence on HR-related matters and managing the integration of new portfolio company employees.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws across multiple jurisdictions.
- Conduct investigations into employee disputes and facilitate resolution, maintaining a balance between employee wellbeing and the company's interests.
- Interpret and enforce company policies, ensuring they align with legal standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure adherence to various regulations including but not limited to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Worker's Compensation.
- Develop and implement HR strategies that foster organizational and people development.
- Develop and utilize HR data and analytics function to inform decision-making and employee success.
- Provide leadership and direction to the HR team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a large, complex organization or private equity environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing HR functions including talent acquisition, training, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Proven track record in M&A due diligence and integration.
- Extensive knowledge of employment law, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle complex situations with a strategic and pragmatic approach.
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Regent, L.P. includes a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This accounts for the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $225,000 per year to $270,000 per year.
