Who we’re looking for: 

Capital One Ventures is seeking a Ventures specific operations focused associate to support the operational and governance aspects of the fund. This person has experience working in a Ventures related risk and governance space and has process management experience. The role is part of the Platforms team which focuses on operations, compliance and portfolio support.

The associate will play a critical role in executing Ventures related processes pre and post investment, ensuring compliance, and coordinating interactions with multiple cross functional teams, including, but not limited to: Risk, Compliance, Legal and Ethics. 

This team member is professional, detailed oriented, analytical, and articulate. They possess the ability to engage comfortably and build strong relationships with partners inside and outside Capital One and communicate effectively to senior level leadership within Capital One. 

What you’ll do:

As a member of the Platforms team at Capital One Ventures you will focus on executing business processes and operational tasks required to execute new investments and manage the Capital One Ventures’ investment portfolio. 

You will be asked to handle a variety of responsibilities, including: 

• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to the Ventures investment process, monitoring and reporting processes

• Facilitate internal due diligence and processes associated with review and approvals for new investments

• Manage relationships with functional area representatives, support onboarding of new representatives and share knowledge of Ventures processes 

• Liaise with enterprise risk representatives and support audit related tasks 

• Manage the Ventures control suite as the business representative, coordinate controls testing, updates and management with relevant cross functional teams 

• Support the operations and maintenance of Ventures processes, maintain the “Ventures Operations Playbook”, drive job aid creation for critical processes

• Support the execution of key deliverables such as quarterly and annual reporting 

• Track and manage tools, third party vendors leveraged by the Ventures team 

• Manage Ventures external and internal websites 

• Organize and manage Ventures documentation to comply with retention and labeling policies 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

• At least 3 years of Process, Project, Analyst or Risk Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters or  MBA degree

• 4+ years of Process, Project, Analyst or Risk Management experience

• 3+ years of Relationship Management experience

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience in an investment support related role 

• Demonstrated analytical, presentation and communication skills

• Experience managing a large and diverse portfolio of strategic relationships

• Demonstrated ability to operate within a large organization at speed
