Description

Reporting to the Production Manager, with a dotted line to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for enhancing performance of the manufacturing operations through identifying opportunities or optimization and improvement; additionally they will be responsible for managing a subset of our production floor and will lead processes in recruiting, training, and developing high performing employees; and ensuring that all rules, regulations, procedures, and policies are understood and adhered to.  Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Partner with the Operations Manager and management leadership in driving and executing organizational and company goals and objectives.  
  • Assist in monitoring key performance indicators that drive daily production activity; monitor and ensure the execution of same. These indicators should product conformity, process performance, customer satisfaction, and employee well-being/safety/morale.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the operations relative to site KPIs, while working to enable collaboration and standardization across departments.
  • Identify opportunities & implement programs to improve workplace safety, reduce costs, control scrap and decrease production lead times.
  • Develop future shop floor leaders by providing feedback and coaching through employee development best practices. Establish and maintain all resources needed to conduct the business operations including:
    • Staffing the personnel needed to adequately and effectively complete and manage all operating tasks
    • Ensuring compliance with all appropriate regulations including current Good Manufacturing Practices
    • Ensuring compliance with all safety and other regulatory compliance
  • Actively promote an environment and culture focused on teamwork, safety, diversity, and respect.
  • Actively participates in new product development efforts.
    • Coordinate resources to support prototype trial runs.
    • Continually provide feedback to manufacturability and process flow considerations.
    • Support training for employees on new product introductions.
  • Research and resolution of product and service complaints, with focus on identification of root causes, formulation and implementation of corrective actions, and measurement of performance to prove successful implementation of revised SOP.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager on special projects as assigned.
  • In cooperation with corporate and site based Human Resources, ensure all human resources and industrial practices are in place and followed accordingly.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Training and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline related to manufacturing
  • Five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably a facility which is ISO certified and/or FDA Regulated.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook)
  • Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices<
