Job Family Description:

We are looking for System/Software Engineers to lead and drive the development of enterprise storage firmware products and solutions. System/software engineers play key roles in multi-discipline teams working on next generation products and solutions in the Storage firmware domain. This includes working in a team responsible for product architecture, product feature definition, software design, SW development and test, customer interaction, and on-going product support. Projects typically involve coordination with internal and external development partners.

The firmware domain includes design and development of software products and solutions for managing the enterprise data center storage infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering storage array firmware / software configurations, performance, troubleshooting, debug, and fixes (code design and development)
• Finding solutions to complex software and product design / test problems
• Performing design and code reviews
• Understanding and preparing product requirements (Software requirement specification)
• Analyzing and proposing solutions to customer issues
• Acknowledging and addressing customer issues related to the product and raised to the engineering team in accordance with SLA requirements
• Reviewing and evaluating designs for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; providing tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk
• Developing relationships with internal and external development partners on software systems design and development
• Collaborating with peers, senior engineers, technicians and external design partners

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically 2-4 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Required domain expertise: Embedded system programming
• Experience in the overall architecture of firmware and interaction with hardware designs for products and solutions
• Demonstrable system programming and debug skills in C / C++ / scripting
• Linux Kernel programming, device driver experience, multi-threaded programming
• Ability to work in team environments and effectively collaborate
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Domain expertise: Embedded system programming in Servers, Storage and/or Networking
• Working knowledge of FC, SCSI, iSCSI and FCoE protocols
