The Quality Analyst II’s responsibilities are to assess software quality through manual testing. This role reports to the Manager, Software Quality.  The position is primarily responsible for writing test plans and for testing software to find and report bugs.  A keen eye for detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical to success in the role.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage queue of issues reported by clients through AspireCare (client support).

  • Research, reproduce, and document defects

  • Utilize tools such as SQL, App Insights and FullStory to fully understand reported defects or to identify software defects.

  • Create detailed issues in Jira that clearly communicates the problem so a developer  can reproduce it.

  • Engage with engineering, product, and AspireCare team members to provide additional clarity where needed to isolate root cause.

  • Act as subject matter expert to to help communicate proper system usage so that bug fixes do not introduce unintended side effects

  • Act as subject matter expert on Aspire functionality for other company stakeholders as necessary.

  • Actively monitor incoming issues and assist in prioritization

What You’ll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering

  • Minimum experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience testing web and mobile applications in the software development industry

  • Experience with mobile testing tools:  Test Light and Fire Base

  • 1 year experience with Jira and Git/GitBase

  • Working knowledge on API testing

Preferred Skills Requirements: 

  • Clear communicator (written and verbal) to ensure ability to write test plans and test cases and to communicate bugs to developers and other stakeholders 

  • Creative thinker

  • Technical problem solving experience

  • Good communication skills and the ability to translate technical requirements into an actionable set of steps.

  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables to find the defects quickly

  • Ability to think abstractly beyond norms 

  • Attention to detail 

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • General understanding of the landscape and lawn services business is a plus. 

  • General understanding of business processes supported by software to be tested including sales, landscape estimating, purchasing, invoicing.

  • Working knowledge of SQL queries to view underlying data a plus

Our headquarters is located in Chesterfield in St. Louis County; however, Employees for this position will be remote.
