The Producer Payroll Specialist is responsible for the successful completion of the producer payroll process which will include balancing and data entry. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this role will work with other accounting personnel in general ledger account review and will serve as an expert for the colostrum accounting, reporting, distribution, and billing.
Primary Responsibilities
- The Producer Payroll Specialist will have no direct reports. However, this position will provide leadership and operational support for other financial professionals and non-professionals.
- Participate in financial ledger support to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Enter, validate, and store all incoming product bills of lading (BOLs).
- Balance product totals with Producers’ and operational reports.
- Calculate and process producer payments by deadline.
- Provide advice and timely, accurate analysis of operational reports and product accounting issues.
- Manage data associated with product/component weights, resolution, or modifications within our operating systems.
- Perform due diligence processes to ensure that data entry and processing functions were accurately performed.
- Validate the payments have been processed according to the defined pricing structure. Includes but not limited to checking formulas, pricing, labs, and product/component weights.
- Identify Producer Payroll issues or areas for improvement and conduct the necessary research to recommend solutions.
- Support management in resolving client disputes and issues relating specifically to the Producer Payroll service function.
- Provide recommendations and support for a system of internal controls.
- Participate in the preparation of various operational and financial reports.
- Review all operational processes and procedures to develop more effective, efficient, and accurate methods of managing product accounting functions.
- Perform document management for Producer onboarding.
- Facilitate new Producer onboarding process to include requesting proper completion of required documentation, communication with new producers, securely storing and transmitting required documents to necessary parties, complete new producer data set up in applicable software and web portals.
Required Education and Experience
- 3+ years of related accounting experience with a preference for a bachelor’s degree (B. S. or B. A.) and dairy industry knowledge.
