The Student Hourly Assistant, under general supervision, will assist the Gulf Scholars Program (GSP) with photography and videography projects.
Responsibilities:
- Be available to attend and travel to conferences, field trips, and other GSP-sponsored events. Weekend and evening availability as needed.
- Create, Save, Copy, Edit, and Share Photos and Video content.
- Assist with recording photography and videography content.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
- Applicants must be a senior or junior Mass Communication student.
- Minimum GPA 3.0
- Must have experience with photojournalism and digital video production
- Must be able to create, save, copy, edit, and share photo and video content.
- For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours for the fall/spring terms.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Earning a degree in Communications with a concentration in Mass Communication or Digital Media.
- Must be a senior or junior Mass Communication student.
- Must have experience with photojournalism and digital video production.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to use computer software, including Microsoft and Adobe suites.
- Working knowledge of social media platforms (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Threads, etc.)
- Excellent written, digital, and oral communications skills.
