General Purpose

Assists in the evaluation and development of recommendations related to new, or emerging clean energy and environmental technologies and policies that could have impacts on corporate, business unit, or organizational objectives including those with specific impacts to thermal generation and transmission and distribution operations. Performs analysis relating to compliance with federal and state environmental rules, regulations, and requirements, including regulations relating to air emissions, water use and discharge, and waste management. 
    
Sr. Analyst:
Evaluates and develops recommendations related to new, or emerging clean energy and environmental technologies and policies that could have impacts on corporate, business unit, or organizational objectives including those with specific impacts to thermal generation and transmission and distribution operations. Performs analysis relating to compliance with federal and state environmental rules, regulations, and requirements, including regulations relating to air emissions, water use and discharge, and waste management. Assists in developing analysis of workflows relevant to carbon capture utilization and sequestration / storage, and other relevant or emerging clean energy technologies.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Level I Analyst position include the following:
•    Apply engineering and environmental principles to support the Company's evaluation and implementation of carbon capture utilization and sequestration / storage, and other relevant or emerging clean energy technologies.
•    Review and evaluate federal and state Clean Air Act rules and requirements.
•    Communicate and collaborate with internal teams, including thermal generation operations, thermal generation environmental, engineering support, resource development, integrated resource planning, government affairs, regulation, and other departments. 
•    Participate in team, public or regulatory agency meetings.
•    Work with state and federal agencies, including EPA, DOJ, State Environmental Quality Departments, and Divisions of Air Quality
In addition, the responsibilities of the Level II Analyst include:
•    Engage with third party technology developers, consultants, and contractors.
•    Provide support for workflows related to requests for proposal, requests for expression of interest, and requests for information from energy technology companies.
•    Implement company policies and procedures relating to environmental technology and policy.
•    Ensure that the best technical processes and environmental practices are applied across the program.
•    Support management in public and agency stakeholder meetings, participate in negotiations under delegated authority, with outside entities.
In addition, the responsibilities of the Level III Analyst include:
•    Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and monitor activities against budget.   Perform technical and cost/benefit analysis of new projects or changes to existing projects.  
•    Responsible for communicating changes, providing ongoing feedback, and working collaboratively with other departments. 
•    Recommend and implement action plans for achieving objectives.
In addition, the responsibilities of the Sr. Level Analyst include:
•    Prepare budget forecasts and monitor activities against budget.   Perform technical and cost/benefit analysis of new projects or changes to existing projects.
•    Support management in public and agency stakeholder meetings, participate in negotiations under delegated authority, with outside entities.

Requirements

  • Requirements for the Level I Analyst position include the following:
    •    Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, engineering, or an applicable field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    •    Strong knowledge of state and federal safety and environmental regulations 
    •    Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation applications. 
    In addition, the requirements of the Level II Analyst include:
    •    A minimum of one year experience in environmental technology and policy work; or a related field. 
    •    Advanced technical knowledge and understanding of environmental issues and the company’s business processes.  
    •    Superior communication and interpersonal skills to motivate employees and represent Company with outside entities.
