Job Summary
Set up, operate, or tend glue station, soldering, or brazing machines for metal products, components, or assemblies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Turn and press knobs and buttons or enter operating instructions into welding machines. 25%

Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies. 20%
-
Load or feed work pieces into welding machines to join or bond components.10%

Correct problems by adjusting controls or by stopping machines and opening holding devices.5%

Inspect, measure, or test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices.20%

Record operational information on specified production reports.3%

Read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine product or job instructions or specifications.2%

Assemble, align, and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components.10%

Education and Experience Profile

High school diploma or GED certificate and/or industrial experience.
