This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What YOU will do:

• Design major components or major portions of functional systems, technically advanced prototypes, and specific products using computer design and engineering systems.
• Develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Develop data and make parametric models, layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals.
• Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost.
• Design, develop and test metallic or non-metallic structures or materials and their related fabrication processes for use in engineering designs.
• Conduct solid and thermal analysis of functional systems, technically advanced prototypes, and specific products using FEA software.
• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.
• Plan, design, develop, and test of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
• May evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience in Siemens NX, Visio, Solidworks software.
• Experience in ANSYS, ABAQUS FEA software.
• Experience in design and analysis of heat exchangers.
• Desirable experience in CNC Manufacturing, Mechanical Design. 
• Experience interacting with Mechanical Computer Aided Design Resources (MCAD).
• Project Engineering experience is a plus.
• Experience interacting with configuration management (CM).
• Knowledge and experience working Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Tolerance Stack up Calculation, Weight Analysis, etc.
• Teamcenter (or other collaborational space) knowledge is a plus.
• SAP knowledge is valuable.
• Experience in Thermal Sciences is a plus
• EVMS experience and knowledge is a plus.
• Project management /MS Project is valuable.
