Student Lifeguards (Multiple positions)

REPORTS TO: Building Principal
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION: $15.00/hour
WORK CALENDAR: 178 Days
STANDARD HOURS: Periods based on availability
PERF: CPCSC is a Non-PERF District
 

 

Position Purpose
Monitor and supervise the pool facilities, enforcing policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions

 

• Monitor and enforce pool rules and policies. 
• Keep the facility clean and organized. 
• Know the facility's emergency action plan, and how to engage it. 
• Perform life saving duties when needed. 
• Answer patrons' questions and follow up on requests. 
• Assist with the opening and closing of the facility as needed. 
• Attend all scheduled meetings 
• Maintain a good level of physical fitness.  
• Responds to medical emergencies; performs first aid and uses proper lifesaving equipment and techniques.
• Provides customer service to patrons to include the handling of customer conflict and complaints.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

• Must possess good oral and written communication skills, as well as quality people skills.
• Knowledge of the schools pool rules and policies.
• Ability to adapt to emergency situations.
• Ability to swim.

 

• The preferred candidate must have or is willing to obtain their lifeguard certification and have the credentials before applying.  
• The preferred candidate will have experience working with peers.
• The preferred candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively.
• The preferred candidate will have some background and knowledge of physical fitness, athletics, sports, swimming and or coaching.
