About the role

Position Summary:

The primary function of the EPC Cost Representative I position is learning cost processes and systems while assisting senior EPC Cost leads in providing accurate progress and actual cost information required to produce a valid and reliable cost projection in a fast paced environment.  The position requires good Computer/Microsoft Office skills, good written and oral communication skills, and a good work ethic.  A successful EPC Cost Representative I will learn systems and processes through interface with Craft Supervision, Project Controls, Estimating, Accounting & Administration, Procurement, and Project Management.  This is an entry level position for a person interested in EPC cost management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to cost control standards, deadlines, and procedures, as well as the terms and conditions that govern projects/locations

Demonstrate understanding of the estimate and proper utilization of all cost codes

Understand and maintain proprietary and confidential information

Work with jobsite General Foremen, Foremen, and Superintendent on proper usage of cost codes

Cost code and expense code verification on Requisitions and Purchase Orders

Perform weekly validation of time charged versus progress claimed

Support balance of information between Zachry systems

Weekly budget validation with adjustments in the Cost System as warranted

Input progress, budget adjustments, and cost projections into the cost system

Understand basis of MTO’s contained within the quantity tracking system

Understand quantity verification between installed quantity and material purchase quantity.

Compilation and distribution of weekly and monthly cost reports

Actively participate in the project cost meetings

Assist in the maintenance of workbook tools/reports

Assist with Change Management and compiling related information

Maintain project trends

Participate in and learn the determination of projected final cost

Perform others duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting, or applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement

0-1 years direct construction cost experience

Intermediate to advanced proficiency with computer skills

Must be willing to relocate to various project locations

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with large industrial projects, and understanding of project environments, requirements, and risks

Knowledge and understanding of engineering, construction, and project management is desired

Strong interpersonal skills

Developing professional, influential and leadership skills

Good language skills (written and oral)

Good math skills

Possess strong computer skills, especially in Excel and Word

Expert technical knowledge of large industrial construction, schedule and cost

Possess excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to thrive in a team working environment
