Job Description

• Generate underground mine designs and schedules for the long range mine plan
• Create LOM underground designs and stope sequencing
• Ensure a seamless transition from life of mine planning to mid and short-range mine plans
• Conduct analysis to identify optimal mine plans.
• Technical studies project management experience
• Generate practical mine designs in compliance with geotechnical, hydrogeological and geological parameters
• Analyze and reconcile actual mine performance to planned performance
• Responsible for underground optimization, long range mine scheduling, equipment sizing, asset optimization, etc.
• Collaborate with all departments and engineering disciplines to integrate long-term mine infrastructure projects into the mine plan
• Ensures mining is planned to maximize the recovery of ore and minimize mining dilution
• Preparation of the annual mining budget and prepare associated reports on production activities
• Maintain design database
• Comply with all safety requirements and observe all company policies and procedures
• Performs other mine engineering duties that may reasonably be required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited University
• 10+ years of mine planning and scheduling experience in underground hard rock mining preferred
• Knowledge of Deswik or ability to learn the software
• Significant experience in underground drill and blast, long-hole stoping and backfilling processes
• Must have excellent computer skills with MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
• Preferable to have Project management experience and proficiency with MS Project
• Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities
• Ability to interpret and disseminate technical information between internal and external stakeholders
