Regions Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate EMT-BLS with excellent communication skills to join our EMS Special Events Team. Our Special Events team delivers care of patient needs upon their arrival to the event Medical or First Aid Stations at various venues. Join us and bring your EMS career to the next level!
The BLS Provider may provide work direction to other basic care providers; perform and document dependent functions such as carrying out EMS Medical Directors medical orders and perform diagnostic and treatment procedures; provide a safe environment; coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient, family, EMS personnel and other health professionals.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating care of high acuity patients in order to expedite treatment and /or transportation to the ED, communicating with other event medical staff,
- Communicating with the EMS and police personnel as necessary
- Observing, participating and managing overall patient care to facilitate care and resolve issues or potential problems.
The BLS Provider will be required to demonstrate all BLS Provider Competencies for event medicine providers as prescribed by the Office of the EMS Medical Director within 3 months of hire.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: EMT certified in the State of MN through the EMSRB -or- Paramedic certified by the State of MN EMSRB -OR- licensed RN in the State of MN with critical care or ED experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Two years of clinical experience in an emergency medical setting
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: EMT certified in the State of WI -or- Paramedic certified by the State of WI -OR- licensed RN in the State of WI with critical care or ED experience.
FTE: 0.0; Casual/Per Diem
Work Schedule: Casual/Per Diem; Required to work 2 shifts per month.
