Guy Carpenter is an industry leader in Reinsurance broking, strategic advisory, and analytics. The North America FP&A team consists of finance business partners that provide financial planning and analysis to their respective broking offices across the region.

We are currently seeking a Sr. Specialist – Finance Business Partner to support our New York Metro offices. This role is located in our New York City office.

• You will interact and build strong partnerships with the business to effectively develop, communicate and analyze financial reporting to support strategic decision making for business units within the North American organization.
• Conduct high value analysis, implement strategic initiatives and operational improvements, as well as find opportunities within a business unit to deliver increased revenue and profitability

• Support the annual strategic plan and budget, quarterly business reviews, executive management presentations and communications
• Create financial models, driver-based sensitivity, and analysis to guide investment rationale and alternative scenarios

We will rely on you to:

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the relevant revenue and expense drivers and trends of the business unit
• Build strong partnerships with the Finance team members and be able to effectively communicate financial results to all stakeholders
• Provide monthly reporting and forecasting in an accurate and timely manner, incorporating value added commentary and analysis to elicit critical decision support
• Assess application of financial data and quantitative analyses, to support sound and defensible recommendations
• Initiate continuous improvement in processes, systems, and organizational effectiveness
• Work with cross-functional teams (Controllership, Compliance, Operations, IT, Human Resources, etc.) to ensure maximum leverage and efficiency are delivered to the business, streamlining reporting and processes where possible

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
• 3 to 5 years of professional finance experience supporting a line of business
• 3+ years of experience forecasting, budgeting and reporting
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, PowerBI
• Experience with a general ledger and query system (Oracle Financials, Smatrview and Cognos)
