Shift Manager Starbucks (Reno)

JOB SUMMARY

Over sees operations of both Starbucks locations at THE ROW, ensuring guests receive prompt service, quality beverages, and products. Delegates tasks so that Baristas can provide the ROW experience to our guests. 

ESSENTIAL DUITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include, but is not limited to the following) 

• Executes store operations during scheduled shifts 
• Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned
• Maintains Starbucks strict brand standards and regularly meets with Starbucks District Manager 
• Anticipates guest and outlet needs by constantly evaluating environment and guests for cues 
• Provides quality beverages, whole bean and food products consistently for all guests by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards 
• Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
• Ensures the outlet is clean and organized so team members can locate resources and product
• Follows operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling, safety and security
• Creates a positive learning environment for team members
• Provides training to new team members and reinforces training with current team members
• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep Starbucks operating to standard and to sets a positive example for other team members
• Utilizes proper procedures and documentation for transactions
• Ensures bank is counted and balanced with cage.
• Completes cash turn-in sheets, etc., and distributes accordingly
• Always follows directions from QSR manager

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to direct the work of others, learn quickly, understand and carry out oral and written instructions
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a team and ability to build relationships
• Understand and comply with all Company and department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and guests
• Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous Starbucks supervisory experience preferred

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position)

• Work is performed in an area, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy and smoky, may encounter slippery surfaces
• Work may be performed in small areas having a 2-ft. access
• Work entails use of solvents/oils and chemicals
• Requires the use of electrical equipment, such as coffee machines, microwaves and blenders, mechanical devices, flame/heat-generated devices and computer equipment
• Constant contact with staff and guests

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to provide internal/ external guests with service excellence, have excellent communication skills and observation skills, and have an easygoing demeanor to ensure a fun and safe environment for our guests. Above average speech – both speaking and reading/writing English. Need excellent interpersonal skills. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
