Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Reviews and approves time for all departments to ensure their time is entered correctly and contact them when changes are needed.
- Maintains Kronos securities that allows department administrators, supervisors and employees to enter their time or time of others.
- Reconciles monthly benefit billings and makes changes to employee coverages as needed.
- Reconciles law enforcement entity billings and submits for monthly or quarterly reimbursement.
- Serves as backup for other payroll sections providing support for workers compensation, mid-and end of month payroll reports and year-end reports.
- Assists employees with payroll questions and concerns and aids with any necessary changes that affects pay.
- Maintains payroll documents filed and archived according to state retention codes.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by two (2) years of payroll, clerical or office support experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Physical Demands:
- Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Special Certifications and Licenses:
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
