The Petrochemicals division is the starting point of BASF’s petrochemical-based value chains throughout the regions. The division manufactures and markets a broad portfolio of high-quality basic chemicals and tailored specialties for internal and external customers.
We are seeking a professional like you who is capable of successfully executing strategic and tactical Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) plans to support environmental compliance for the Pasadena CP Site. You will ensure compliance, coordination, and continuous improvement of environmental programs and projects. This includes providing leadership on all aspects of environmental standards by reviewing applicable standards and interpreting associated requirements to the site and advising site management of compliance concerns. Additionally, you will develop strategies and programs to ensure compliance to new federal, state or local regulations.

- Maintaining and monitoring existing environmental programs while optimizing effectiveness and efficiency of the programs.
- Counselling the site(s) leadership teams on taking recommended actions to address EHS matters and compliance concerns.
- Interfacing with State and Federal Regulatory Agencies on permit applications, permit negotiations, agency inspections, enforcement issues and reports.
- Identifying EHS issues and seek opportunities for improvement driving strategic decisions for the business.
- Submitting various agency and internal environmental reports and maintaining appropriate environmentally related documentation.
- Implementing and maintaining of the Title V / NSR air permitting, wastewater (NPDES/MSGP), EPCRA, waste, potable water, and underground injection control program. Including the reporting and administration of related electronic systems.
- Successfully engaging within the organization, developing effective working relationships with site management, employees, and the EHS community to drive continuous improvement in environmental performance
- Coordinating and collaborating with the Expert Services Teams (ES) on the development of processes and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.
If you...
- Hold a degree on Chemistry, Biology / Environmental / Bioenvironmental Engineering or related science.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance of manufacturing operations.
- Are familiar and experience working with EPA and TCEQ regulations.
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office applications
