Position Purpose
Reporting to the General Manager, the Product Support Sales Representative (PSSR) is responsible for driving parts and service revenue growth within an assigned territory. This position develops new customer relationships, strengthens existing accounts, performs equipment inspections, identifies product support opportunities, and promotes solutions that maximize customer uptime while growing Gulf Coast JCB's parts and service business.
This position is based in Baton Rouge, LA.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management
◦ Develop new customer accounts through prospecting, cold calling, referrals, and jobsite visits.
◦ Maintain and grow existing customer relationships through consistent communication and follow-up.
◦ Conduct regular customer visits to understand fleet needs, operating challenges, and upcoming opportunities.
◦ Establish Gulf Coast JCB as the preferred provider of parts, service, maintenance, and equipment support solutions.
◦ Respond quickly and professionally to customer inquiries and service requests.
◦ Utilize CRM tools to document customer interactions, opportunities, and account activity.
Parts and Service Sales
◦ Promote and sell parts, service, maintenance, inspections, repairs, and customer support programs.
◦ Identify opportunities to increase customer uptime and reduce operating costs.
◦ Generate parts and service sales leads for internal departments and actively follow opportunities through completion.
◦ Develop and present quotes, proposals, and repair recommendations.
◦ Promote preventative maintenance agreements, inspections, fluid analysis programs, and service contracts.
◦ Collaborate with Parts and Service teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
◦ Follow up on open quotes and recommendations to maximize sales conversion.
Equipment Inspections and Fleet Support
◦ Perform equipment inspections and document machine condition.
◦ Identify maintenance, repair, wear component, undercarriage, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain opportunities.
◦ Provide customers with recommendations that improve reliability, safety, productivity, and equipment life.
◦ Monitor customer fleets and proactively communicate upcoming maintenance requirements.
◦ Assist customers with equipment lifecycle planning and support strategies.
Territory Management
◦ Develop and execute a territory growth plan.
◦ Maintain regular customer coverage within assigned territory.
◦ Meet or exceed established sales, activity, and customer contact goals.
◦ Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and forecast future opportunities.
◦ Track market intelligence, competitive activity, and customer buying trends.
◦ Support dealership growth initiatives, customer events, open houses, and demonstrations.
Internal Collaboration
◦ Work closely with Parts, Service, Sales, and Administration teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
◦ Communicate customer needs and opportunities effectively across departments.
◦ Support collections efforts by assisting with customer communication when necessary.
◦ Participate in sales meetings, training programs, and professional development activities.
◦ Promote a team-first culture and support all dealership operations as business needs require.
Essential Job Qualifications
◦ Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy equipment, construction equipment, agriculture equipment, truck, diesel engine, or related industries.
◦ Previous outside sales, product support sales, service sales, parts sales, or customer support experience preferred.
◦ Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment maintenance and repair practices.
◦ High school diploma or GED.
◦ Associate degree, technical training, or equivalent work experience preferred.
◦ Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and CRM software.
◦ Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
