To meet students where they are, we will host internships in both a virtual and in-person format. Opportunities listed will either be in-person based on the location mentioned or virtual, depending on business needs. Some of our internship opportunities that begin in September will continue through the Academic Year and end in April. Job Description

Academic Year Internship Program: 

• Applications Close: June 9, 2023 at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – don't delay! 
• Program Dates: September 18, 2023 – April 19, 2024 
• Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

Operations & Technology (O&T) is a $1B operating cash flow ($1.5B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, and London. 

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: 

• Global Response & Intelligence Center: The NBCUniversal Global Response and Intelligence Center (GRIC), located at NBCUniversal headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Center, New York, NY, is a 24x7 incident response center, managing and coordinating crisis response on behalf of NBCUniversal assets worldwide, including NBC News, NBC Sports Group, Universal Productions and Telemundo. The GRIC is comprised of a Vice President, Director, Regional Intelligence Analysts and 24x7 Operations Officers monitoring worldwide incidents. The intern will be supporting operations by entering NBCU event locations data, along with other pertinent information into our security systems. The intern will be supporting the GRIC Director by updating and maintaining the D3 security database. As the intern, you’ll get to thoroughly review the GRIC’s Outlook inbox daily for all NBCU locations that need to be entered into NC4 and Google My Maps, assist with daily upload of NBCU temporary locations into the Visual Command Center (VCC), and provide weekly updates of NBCU monitored events report that is distributed every Friday. 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. 
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits). 
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal. 
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY. 

Desired Characteristics: 

• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred. 
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. 
• Proficiency with standard office computer and web applications (Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree with a concentration in a relevant course of study. 

The hourly rate for student interns is $17.00.
