This role reports directly to the Director Finance for Private Funding and provides support to the Director in leading the team. The Assistant Director will oversee, monitor, and support the private and public grant management process, as well as the compliance for private and public grants and contracts. You will be collaborating with program and/or development teams to provide leadership for the grant management process, financial strategic direction for budgets and reporting while maintaining Finance objectives and policies. This collaboration will include facilitating regular touchpoint meetings with multiple areas to ensure consistent and open communication; including with Finance counterparts. Assistant Director will coach, manage and develop direct reports and ensure the team is meeting department goals and expectations.

Reporting to the Director Finance for Private Funding, you will:

  • Train and provide team with direction as they collaborate with Financial, Planning and Analysis to monitor grants expenditures and revenue, to develop agency budgets, interact with Program/Research/Policy/Development teams and maintain and improve previously established relationships within the organization. Also support the team in the production/correction of internal monthly financial reports.
  • Complete development of agency grant budgets and financial reports for assigned divisions/agencies. In addition, directly interacts with Program/Research/Policy/Development team to assist them with the development, preparation, and submission of the proposed budget and financial repors for external funding to various funding agencies.
  • Audit internal monthly grant financial reports for assigned divisions/agencies and meets regularly with Program/Research/Policy/Development team to discuss grants spending strategy for identified grants.
  • Collaborate with accounting to maintain current and accurate accounting records for pledges and private funds and assist with revenue analysis for divisions/agencies.
  • Audit and maintain the integrity of budget information entered into Award Management.
  • Ensure team members are deploying SOP’s and grant management process to meet internal and funder deadlines.
  • Manage the Revenue Allocation Report and directlly works Business Development Office to review the private and earned revenue allocation, and troubleshoot any differences in fiscal management systems.
  • Owns responsibility to maintain, updating, creating and adoption of departmental SOP and associated change management
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and minimum five years of related experience in grant and contract administration.
  • Minimum five years of related experience in grant and contract administration; Minimum of five years of general ledger experience i.e. handling reconciliations, and analysis;
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office; specifically with Excel. Advanced Excel experience needed i.e. ability to create pivot tables and formulas.
  • Ability to work well with a variety of constituents and other departments.
  • Familiarity with federal regulations including uniform guidance, cost principles, and GATA requirements.
