As part of the Strategy department, the Senior Associate, Sustainability will join the Sustainability team at RWE Clean Energy (RWECE) and be part of the strategic coordination of RWECE's sustainability and ESG activities. The team is responsible for integrating and aligning our sustainability goals to position RWECE as a sustainability leader in our sector. Responsibilities:
- Take on responsibility for workstreams and project work packages as part of RWE Clean Energy’s Sustainability Action Plan 2024, to support our team in meeting the goals of the RWE sustainability strategy (including the focus topics of climate action, biodiversity, circular economy, and social responsibility).
- Research sustainability market trends and policy and prepare reports for management to support the informed development of our strategic sustainability activities.
- Prepare internal and external communication materials, including presentations, performance reports, and articles.
- Support in the collection and preparation of qualitative and quantitative data for RWE’s sustainability reporting across different functions.
- Engage with the global network of sustainability professionals across the RWE Group
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of experience or an advanced academic degree (Master’s degree) with a minimum of 1 year of experience with one of the following or related concentrations: sustainability management, business management, economics, environmental science or social policy
- Experience in working in corporate sustainability in one or several of the following topics: climate change mitigation, biodiversity, circular economy, stakeholder engagement
- Experience in assisting teams in strategic projects
- Experience in conducting market research and in the preparation of management-oriented reports of research findings
- Experience in corporate sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol Standard, GRI, SASB) is considered an asset
- Experience in the energy sector, energy transition and/or renewable energy is considered an asset
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset
- Demonstrated understanding of business concepts
- Goal orientation and strong problem-solving abilities to help you successfully lead projects and workstreams
- Motivated to learn about the Company and the renewables space and are motivated to continuously grow your sustainability knowledge
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Excellent communication skills and experience in enabling cross-functional, cross-cultural, and cross-hierarchical engagement and exchange
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks and deliverables
- Team player and enjoy the flexibility to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $72,300 - $108,400. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
