What You’ll Do:

The Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for all daily accounting tasks for fixed assets located across multiple company entities, including maintaining fixed asset listings, reconciling FA schedules to the general ledger and maintaining our fixed asset ledger.  

  • Manage the complete lifecycle of fixed assets, including acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, impairment testing, and disposals.
  • Utilize Microsoft Dynamics F&O to maintain accurate fixed asset records, perform reconciliations and optimize asset tracking.  
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, and reclassifications.
  • Ensure that all fixed assets are properly recorded and classified.
  • Collaborate with various departments to review and analyze capital expenditure requests, aligning them with budgetary constraints and company objectives.
  • Prepare and post monthly accruals for depreciation and amortization expenses to accurately reflect the company's financial position.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of fixed asset accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of fixed asset policies and procedures.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations related to fixed asset accounting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in fixed asset management and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor and reconcile physical fixed assets with accounting records, conducting periodic physical asset verifications.

Who You Are: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, required.
  • 2+ years general ledger accounting and/or fixed asset accounting experience. 
  • Advanced Excel skills required, including the ability to use V-lookups and pivot tables.
  • Experienced in the use of accounting software (experience in Microsoft Dynamics accounting software preferred).
  • Experience with SOX internal controls is preferred.
  • Must have a solid understanding of accounting concepts and basic accounting fundamentals: GAAP, general ledgers, financial accounting statements.
