About the Department
The Section of Genetic Medicine conducts impactful investigations focused on quantitative genetics, systems biology and genomics, bioinformatics and computational biology as well as through extensive collaborations of the faculty throughout the Department of Medicine, Biological Sciences Division and the University of Chicago.
Job Summary
Responsibilities
Designs and executes experiments.
Writes reports and papers, as well as standard operating procedures (SOP) for selected equipment and experiments.
Other laboratory duties such as to train junior researchers and lab equipment maintenance.
Serves as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis. Facilitates and promotes a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.
Develops laboratory protocols and training on new techniques. Manage, analyze and make recommendations on complex data sets for research.
Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Doctoral degree in biological sciences or related field.
Preferred Competencies
Knowledge of medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, or cell biology.
Knowledge of molecular cloning, reporter gene assay, drug design, or bioconjugation.
Publication of at least two refereed papers as the first author (or co-first author) in the above-mentioned field(s).
Verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
