Company Description

At Lakeshore, we create innovative learning materials and world-class guest experiences for teachers, parents and children. Since 1954, we’ve grown into a global community—with a thriving e-commerce business, multiple catalogs, over 50 stores, a peerless national sales force, plus international offices that support our preeminent supply chain division. Job Description

Our Carson campus runs smoothly because of people like you. As a Facilities Maintenance Associate I, you'll keep our building safe, clean, and ready for the employees who count on it every day — handling service requests, routine maintenance, and everything in between. You'll work alongside experienced technicians, build hands-on skills, and see the direct impact of your work in the spaces where Lakeshore's mission comes to life.

A day on the job looks like this:

  • Respond to and complete assigned facilities service requests on time, delivering a high standard of quality and care to internal customers
  • Support scheduled building inspections and preventive maintenance activities to keep equipment and spaces in good working order
  • Assist senior technicians with repairs and maintenance tasks, learning trade skills and building your facilities knowledge on the job
  • Set up and break down meeting rooms, event spaces, and parking areas to support business meetings and company events
  • Collect and dispose of waste and recyclable materials following company procedures
  • Perform closing responsibilities to ensure the building is secure and ready for the next day

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:

Required:

  • 1–2 years of experience in a facilities, maintenance, building services, or related hands-on role
  • Comfortable using common hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Basic computer proficiency — able to manage work orders and communicate through Microsoft Outlook and Teams
  • Valid driver's license (a copy of your driving record will be required)
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds and perform the physical demands of an active, onsite role
  • Must be available to work fully onsite in Carson, CA

Preferred:

  • Forklift certification or prior forklift operating experience
  • Familiarity with basic plumbing, electrical systems, or HVAC units
  • Experience working in a high-volume facility or distribution/warehouse environment

What sets you apart:

  • You take ownership of your work orders from start to finish — no task falls through the cracks on your watch
  • You ask questions when you're unsure and treat feedback as fuel for getting better
  • You bring a service mindset to every interaction, treating coworkers' requests with the same care you'd want for yourself
