Senior Manager, Accounting: Close & Consolidations

We are looking for an experienced people leader that is interested in working at a collaborative fast paced financial services company to lead our Close & Consolidations team. This person will be responsible for ensuring we have well managed close, consolidations, legal entity, and intercompany processes. They will also play a central role in acquisitions / divestitures and the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
We are looking for someone that is able to balance their accounting policy, operational, and system expertise to lead the team through a number of exciting initiatives, build relationships, and provide thought leadership into our future state vision.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of motivated associates responsible for overseeing our month end close process and delivering well managed consolidated and legal entity financial statements
Lead team in driving a number of exciting initiatives and system enhancements, including acquisitions / divestitures and the implementation of a new ERP system
Lead team in building well managed intercompany loan / transaction process and provide technical accounting expertise around complex legal entity structures
Include, inspire, and empower associates. Actively support training, development, and evaluation of associates to build / maintain a high-performing, cohesive team
Build relationships, collaborate, and partner cross-functionally with customers and key stakeholders, including accounting systems and technology partners
Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace and continue to build positive team brand
Support compliance activities
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or military experience
At least 7 years of experience in accounting, audit, finance, or a combination
At least 2 years experience in of people management
At least 1 year of experience leading a Close & Consolidations process
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
At least 8 years of experience in accounting, or audit or finance, or a combination
At least 3 years experience in of people management
At least 5 years of experience with financial institutions
At least 3 years experience leading a Close & Consolidations team

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $170,800 - $194,900 for Sr. Manager, Accounting
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
