Director of HR, M&A and Integration and Special Projects

The Director of HR is responsible for merger and acquisition diligence and post-acquisition integration activities as well as leading HR transformation projects. This role will lead the HR diligence workstream including review of employment practices, benefits analysis, compensation, and post close synergy analysis and integration strategy development. Integration activities include areas such as aligning HR policies and practices, ensuring smooth transition for employees, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements during the integration process.
Additionally, this role will lead HR Projects focused on transforming the PremiStar HR organization and people first culture including HR best practices, engagement initiatives, and talent management strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
Strategic
- Lead overall HR due diligence to facilitate successful completion of M&A transactions and integration projects on time and in alignment with PremiStar Values.
- Drive successful execution against deal milestones by tracking milestones, making key recommendations to stakeholders, and holding cross functional teams accountable for execution of deliverables.
- Perform diligence and cultural assessment to identify areas of synergy and potential misalignment, recommending solutions and unique integration approaches where necessary.
- Partner closely with HRBPs, HR functional leadership, M&A team, finance team, IT team, and other relevant stakeholders on alignment of business needs and HR due diligence pre- and post-acquisition.
- Train and coach local HR on HR processes and systems for successful transition to PremiStar HR strategy and processes.
- Partner with VP of HR and CHRO to assess organizational design to identify deal synergies and drive efficiencies.
- Evolve HR diligence and integration playbooks to facilitate future transaction activity.
- Develop and implement post-acquisition cultural assimilation strategy.
- Collaborate with the M&A team during the due diligence phase so that HR integration related matters are considered prior to acquisition.Work closely with the VP of Integration and CHRO during the due diligence phase to draft key HR integration priorities, including setting synergy targets with appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) and define required resources to achieve goals.
- Collaborate with various subject matter experts to develop detailed project plans and prioritize integration tasks to achieve project goals.
- Take responsibility for effective communication within the project team and with the joint management team.
- Provide regular updates regarding the status and progress of the HR integration to Senior Leadership and acquired business with appropriate reporting tools.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HR integration activities between all parties (PremiStar and acquired businesses) ensuring succinct communication, unified efforts, clarity around objectives, and escalation of issues.
- Be responsible for the timely identification of project risks and the development and implementation of the mitigations for these risks.
- Ongoing development and refinement of the HR diligence and integration process reflecting the business model and scale of the acquired entities showing awareness and adoption of best industry practice and bringing objectivity to the processes already in place, to continue to improve the overall integration experience.
- Provide leadership and project management to HR Transformation Projects that will help build People First Culture across entire organization (i.e. Talent Management Programs, Engagement Survey, etc.).
- Assist in any HR system implementations or related enhancements.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
- Ability to travel and work onsite at the acquired companies located throughout the U.S. (50%+).

Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associates degree required.
- Specific Area of Study: Business Management, Human Resources, Project Management, Leadership, Change Management.
