What You Do
What You Do
Will drive continuous improvement initiatives centered around Paint Shop equipment efficiency, reliability, material issues/improvements, process integrity and vehicle quality with a specific emphasis on controls and power distribution across the paint shop.
As a part of the above, an on an ongoing basis will also:
Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
Work closely with advisors from Mazda and Toyota
Support/initiate the development, manage and direct completion of projects to improve all KPI’s.
Work with production and maintenance departments to solve chronic problems and implement countermeasure activity.
Develop and execute annual plans aligned with company and department objectives.
Understand the technical aspects of paint operations, establish critical process control parameters and ensure process parameter management.
Coordinate and manage supplier/contractor activity to include job scope, expectations, safety and schedules.
Foster two-way communication at all levels to ensure real issues are known.
Provide technical support as required to ensure plant equipment is operating and optimized
Implement error proofing solutions that are integrated into the assembly line or manufacturing process control system
Project management and commissioning of capital equipment projects as assigned
Integrate common equipment controls best practices between plants
Review equipment control systems to ensure that the system meets all applicable safety standards
Review technical feasibility of projects and provide input to maintain the Division's capital plan
Aid in vendor selection, equipment specification, quotation, and reviews for new equipment
Keep abreast of new trends and technology Performs other related duties as assigned by the department
Be available to work outside of normal work schedule, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
What You Bring
High School Diploma or GED
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
Proficiency in cross functional, cross company, and cross-sectional paint processes.
Knowledge of HMI programming
Proficiency in PLC programming (Experience with Allen Bradley, Omron PLC’s)
