An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon for a technical lead to join our semiconductor foundry engineering leadership team within the RF Microelectronics/Module Design & Foundry Services (RFMicro) Department.

The 4th Shift Technical Lead – Semiconductor Fab role would be responsible for directing a group of skilled process engineers to fabricate advanced microelectronic devices in accordance with various technology roadmaps in support of Raytheon Technologies business pursuits. These road maps consist of both near term efforts on the cusp of transition-to-production, as well as longer term development efforts that maintain a pipeline of innovation. The ideal candidate will have experience in III-V semiconductor processing, preferably in GaAs, GaN, or GaSb. They will make real-time production decisions, review process changes, identify and champion process improvement opportunities, work to improve process yields, and interface with operations management. They will facilitate the effective allocation of team resources in ways to support the oversight of the foundry processes, assist in identifying future capital investment needs, and foster open communication between functional teams.  Presence on the foundry floor is essential for understanding technical and logistical issues. The role requires a large degree of multitasking with attention to detail while managing priorities depending on the nature of the problems and the commitments to customers and programs.  

This role will be 100% on-site and based in Andover, MA and a weekend role on 4th shift.

What You Will Do:

  • Review process changes, identify and champion process improvement opportunities, work to improve process yields, and interface with operations management.

  • Review and oversee project schedules and costs, drive capital acquisition and qualification, execute process improvement and development activities for the foundry.

  • Facilitate the effective allocation of team resources in ways to support the oversight of the foundry processes, assist in identifying future capital investment needs, and foster open communication between functional teams.

  • Work with the department manager on manpower and resource planning


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field.  (An advanced STEM degree could count for 3 years of experience)

  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience with semiconductor processing or process integration.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • A Master’s degree or PhD. in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field.

  • Experience working with GaAs, GaN, GaSb, and/or acoustic semiconductor processes.

  • Knowledge of Statistical Process control and related SPC software

  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Customer focus and collaboration skills

  • Project scheduling and management experience 

  • Previous experience with a defense contractor and/or government agency.

  • Experience working with GaAs, GaN, GaSb, and/or acoustic semiconductor processes

  • Current DoD Secret level security clearance
